In 1927 Peer’s Bristol Sessions put the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers on disc. Johnson City sessions followed in 1928–29. Congress later designated Bristol the Birthplace of Country Music. From 1399 Broad you are in the valley those rooms were listening to.

Heritage music and living history on the park calendar in Elizabethton. The outdoor drama Liberty! The Saga of Sycamore Shoals is the park’s named production when it is in season.
Downtown Elizabethton uses the 1882 bridge park for music in warm months and for the June Covered Bridge Festival. Treat it as a town green, not a ticketed room.
